Well fair enough, but I loved all the references and I wish more games went for this silly over the top angle. I just didn't find myself laughing at anything, a brief sympathy snort here and there.
I dunno, I gotta say the whole "look how 80's we are" humor started to wear thin pretty quickly. And without spoiling too much, you're on a revenge mission to stop a rogue general who kills your best mate Sub Zero, and has diabolical plans to bring down the US government and fire some missiles, or something like that.Īctually Hex, I think you just spoilt everything, it's a ridiculously thin story that's just there so they can cram in as many references and cliches as they can, and that's not a bad thing. Now, Rex is appropriately voiced by Michael Biehn, who many will remember as Kyle Reese from The Terminator, and Hicks from Aliens, two of the greatest 80's action films. Sorry, Hex, can we get out of this 80's party? All this neon is giving me a perm and you don't want to see that. The year is 2007, it is the future and you are Rex Powercolt, a man turned into some kind of half terminator thanks to the nuclear apocalypse. Apparently it all started off just as a bit of a joke game within the studio that ended up too good not to share, and now we have it. Wait! I think we need to set the mood a bit first Baj, that's better, now roll the montage!īlood Dragon is stand-alone expansion, and it's a love letter to cheesy 80's action movies. blood dragons! That shoot fricken lasers from their eyeballs! Roll the montage! Sadly the expansion doesn't have dinosaurs, but it does have dragons. But I think we can all agree it would have been better with dinosaurs. Hex, I liked Far Cry 3, I didn't love it.
